One Year at Luza: A Journey of Trust, Flexibility, and Growth

...

As I mark one year at Luza, I can’t help but feel deeply grateful for the journey so far! Working remotely, I’ve had the privilege of embracing not only professional growth but also personal balance — a rare combination that Luza truly enables.

One of the greatest joys has been the freedom to work from different parts of Portugal, especially from the stunning islands of the Azores. Being able to spend quality time with family while staying fully engaged in my work has been invaluable. This flexibility isn’t just a perk — it’s a philosophy that respects our lives beyond the screen.

Despite being remote, Luza makes connection a priority. Our get-togethers every 3 months are not only fun but meaningful. They bring us closer, allow us to share experiences, and strengthen our bond as a team. Whether it’s a lunch at the Lisbon office or dropping by another office elsewhere in the country, there’s a sense of belonging that transcends location.

What I value most is the trust. At Luza, I’m given independence to do my job without micromanagement. That autonomy reflects a deep respect for each person’s responsibility and expertise. It empowers us to deliver our best work — and we do.

Professionally, Luza offers an enriching mix of clients, cultures, and challenges. Each project brings something new, expanding our horizons and strengthening our skills. The company actively supports technical development, encouraging certifications and continuous learning. It’s not just encouraged — it’s expected and supported.

Most importantly, I feel part of a bigger vision. From the very start, I’ve been able to plan my evolution here, align it with the company’s goals, and see that plan in motion throughout the year. There’s clarity, structure, and room to grow — a combination that’s both rare and rewarding.

So, here’s to one year of purposeful work, inspiring people, and authentic flexibility. I look forward to what’s next, and I’m proud to be part of Luza.
